Emotional Eating

1. Do you eat to alleviate stress, anger, sadness and frustration?
2. Do you feel like you are loosing control over eating and emotions?
3. Is it hard for you to feel good about yourself?
4. Having trouble staying motivated about emotional health and physical health?
5. Need help resolving the problems that are related to you feeling sad, angry, frustrated, stuck, etc.?

When you are not feeling so well, it is a natural response for you to seek comfort.
When food is used consistently over time to alleviate stress and negative emotions,
this leads to negative consequences. The very thing that gives temporary relief (food)
ends up causing negative emotions (guilt) later on.

Sometimes life can be stressful and painful, and it is much easier to turn to food for comfort
than face the issue and find the time and courage to deal with it. Letting problems fester and using food to deal with them just reinforces feelings of loss of control. Not only does one feel overwhelmed with their feelings, but as a result of overeating one also feels a bit helpless
about the weight that keeps adding on.
