Group Therapy

A. The Ultimate Women’s group:

I am conducting face to face group counseling with women in the downtown Chicago area. Women’s Ultimate group addresses women’s concerns in the social realm, physical realm, psychological realm, and the spiritual arena.

The following topics will be addressed in the group.

1.
Relationships: You will learn new ways of relating to yourself and others that will give you the results you want.
2.
Fitness: You will learn to recognize patterns that sabotage your fitness goals. We will develop different ways of thinking and behaving so you can reach your peak physical fitness. Practical advice and support from the group can help you reach your goals.
3.
Psychological self-growth: You will learn self-acceptance and be excited about who you are. You will explore and remove shackles of shame, shackles of seeking approval from others, and shackles of self-doubt that tie you down. You will break free and live a wholesome joyous life. Life is finite and no one is here forever so it is essential to be exactly who you are and let your greatness shine through. Just as the Sun exudes warmth and brightness, have your unique talents shine brightly and feel alive.
4.
Spirituality: Recognizing and celebrating the spirit within. Tap into the world of limitlessness and experience pure joy, splendor, beauty and unconditional love. Learn ways to recognize and live in spirit:
  • Meditation
• Valuing the present moment
• Connecting with the Infinite
• Reading appropriate literature

B. Mastering the Art of Happiness group

Create a fountain of Joy from within and revel in its magnificence. Gratification of the senses is short lived and happiness derived from it depends on something outside of yourself. These objects, people or events may or may not have negative consequences for you, or you may or may not be able to acquire them. Objects, people and events are finite and usually come to an end. Total reliance on factors outside of yourself for your happiness places you at the mercy of these outside factors. To maintain a constant flow of joy into your life you must learn the art of being joyous.

Find out if any of the following applies to you:

  • Are you stuck in a rut?
  • Do you use food, shopping, and liquor to feel good? How long does your high last after engaging in these activities?
  • Are you having trouble accepting the aging process?
  • Are you relying upon factors outside of yourself for your happiness?
  • Are you having trouble sleeping?
  • Would you like to live a wholesome, happy life?
  • Interested in making your life more meaningful?
  • In the world of constant change, are you interested in developing constancy?
  • Are you feeling irritated, frustrated, angry, anxious, jealous or sad?
  • Are you willing to try other alternatives to happiness?

Very few people would say NO to the idea of  being blissfully happy. Creating long lasting Joy takes practice. In group we explore different avenues that lead you to experience bliss and tranquility. Being part of a group increases your level of accountability and commitment to your goals. Support and insight from the group process can help you take steps towards the road to lasting happiness.
